History

The Beginning

Many years ago, back in 2001, RuneScape was born, my friend in real life at the school I went to at the time started to play the game and introduced me to the game.
A few months after he had started training his account he figured that people without much Defence and high offensive Attack and Strength would be very strong as there were no Defence Requirements for any Armours at the time.

I then went to create the account 3 Hit U, mainly as there were 3 rounds of Combat before you could run, eat, drink, etc.

The word of 3 Hit U soon spread throughout the land of RuneScape with a few great Pures being made such as:

Although at one point, they where all my rivals, each Pure striving to be better than each other.
Once the Wilderness was created, the scenes of Pures and “catching” seem to latch on, with I Wicked I (first creator of I-I names) found out how it was possible to “catch” your opponent.
With this out, he charged lessons at a very high price, to teach people, he made thousands upon thousands of gold doing this.

Time went by, a few months, I had learned to catch (how you can see in my Videos, especially with Dildefighter, my next and one of the only few “public” accounts I discuss, he was also a Pure)
Catching became a thing “every” person had to master, unless they would die basically.

Pures Ruling RuneScape

Pures at this time around 2002 - 2003 totally ruled the world of RuneScape, and it seemed that Jagex (the company that owned RuneScape) hated us.
They may deny this now, but I still believe we’re not in there “good books”, they saw us as Combat abusers, and still do I believe, as we take the Combat to the maximum finding a way to abuse the system and gain an advantage over any account.
With Jagex hating Pures and with them ruling the Wilderness, the race was on to find the greatest PKer of all time.
Each account trying to be better than the other, some people with high Attack and Strength, some with low Attack and high Strength, here are some examples:

  • I Sxy I - 20 Attack, 1 Defence, 99 Strength
  • Ix Master - 99 Attack, 2 Defence, 99 Strength
  • X Karlos X - 68 Attack, 20 Defence, 93 Strength
  • Tru Hood Jr - 92 Attack, 20 Defence, 99 Strength

Each pure with there own strong points, and respect for every other person out there in the Wilderness took it upon themselves to fight to the death, on almost every fight, if you ran, you got caught, that was how the Wilderness was ran.

Years had passed, time was moving on, with Mrs Pk achieving the impossible of 99 Strength at a Defence Level of 7, and his team-mate Dark Ness, achieving 99 Ranged and 10 Defence, that team set the high standard of the Wilderness, owning all within their path, they couldn’t be stopped… Or so it seemed…

… I came out of the shadows of Training, no where near matching the Stats of either Mrs Pk or Dark Ness (they’re both legends in my eyes) after getting a tip off that they where spotted at Castle (Level 12 Wilderness) PKin on the same server as myself, I figured it’d be an honour to actually see them in person, I mean who wouldn’t want to see the people that inspired them in the game? I took my good friend Metalranger and we headed to Castle, not many people had heard of me at this time.

We headed off (myself and Metalranger) the impossible happened, I attacked Mrs Pk, looking death straight in the eye, and hitting a Combination of ‘27-24-21′ while Mrs Pk hitting me for a 31! (The highest number in Free 2 Play)

He ran, ate his Swordfish, healing and then I caught him, hit a Combination of ‘27-24-dead’, Mrs Pk fell to me, I will always remember that day of 3 Hit U finally getting noticed.

Next on my ‘hit list’ was his Ranger friend (Dark Ness, now a good friend of mine), I had a tip off that Dark Ness was with his friends (3 Rangers and Mrs Pk again) the following day, I headed their alone (knowing I was going to die, not even thinking I would kill them, hadn’t entered my head)

I Attack Dark Ness, 3 hit him straight from full health, with 3 Rangers shooting me, I get piled and I run for my life, escaping past the Skeletons, after this happened, I received a PM from Dark Ness, he asked me to team with him, of course I said yes, he was the only decent Ranger around my level in the game!

I added him, and he became a great friend of mine.
Now this team of Mrs Pk, 3 Hit U and Dark Ness was formed, their was no better team, we were the people who ruled Castle, we claimed it as “ours”.

Screenshots of the kill against both Mrs Pk and Dark Ness can be found in the image archive.

The Start Of Fame

At this time, of killing both Mrs Pk, and Dark Ness, I took it upon myself to join Tip.It forums, and then browsed the forum, noting all the ‘good’ PKers down on a hitlist.
I set a goal to kill everyone of them, no matter how long it took, never did I think it would happen so fast… The name of 3 Hit U never became very well known until 1 man… X Karlos X sprung into the Tip.It forums, he unquestionably was the greatest 20 Defence PKer in the day, no one came close. I asked him for a DM via the Forums, he accepted, little did I or he know what we where getting into… The fight day came, we clashed, I was still an outsider at the time, whereas he being the most respected PKer on Tip.It forums.

We attacked, we both hit high, very high indeed, only thing I can remember from that actual fight, was him running to eat and then I caught him, hitting a Combination he couldn’t recover from, resulting in him dieing.

The Skeletons next to us, one of them Piled me, as I took the Screenshot, I didn’t die, was very close though.

The Screenshot of all the people on Tip.It forums with insane reps where all dead, all within 2 months!

I then went public, posting every person dead on the forums, the 3 Hit U we know today was finally born.

The End Of Pures

Rumour had it that RuneScape 2 (the RuneScape today) was going to be released, screenshots were taken by Andrew Gower and other staff members.
Pures had never never thought Jagex would find a way to stop Pures… But they did it seemed. Jagex gave everyone the option to play “RuneScape 1″ or “RuneScape 2″, all Pures except for myself, picked RuneScape 1, little did they know, that would end in Pure destruction.

With bots becoming more popular, and Jagex using RuneScape 2 as a last resort for Pures and Bots to be removed, they released it as planned, killing off all Pures and they where all forgotten, each one of them quitting, Jagex, not caring one bit.

The Rebirth Of Pures

Pures forgotten, new landscapes, and graphics took over, the world of RuneScape 2 was born. Everyone not even knowing about Pures anymore, totally vanished from their brains, Pures where gone it seemed…

…A few months had passed, not one word of Pures, other than them quitting, until one day… I posted on Tip.It forums showing my RuneScape 2 stats, exploiting them to the world again, proving Pures could still be made and kept alive, although there were still probably some Pures in the game, but the ones from Classic (with rep) kept to Classic, I stored some items on Classic and put a few on RuneScape 2.

I never brought back Pures, I mearly showed people they could still be useful and effective if they were used in the right way.

The Impossible Achievement

Over a year had passed, of countless hours Training, PKin and enjoying the landscapes of RuneScape I found myself on the point of completion.
With my Combat stats, all at 99 bar from Defence(14), Prayer(43), and Magic(1), the goals I had set out to accomplish had almost been finished, sticking true to my Classic roots of never training Magic.
I achieved all 99 without the need of Training either: Defence, Prayer, Magic.Time went by, I was finding it hard after years of not being able to Teleport to any place, having to walk all the time, finally became too much, with the “Ancient Magicks” also released, I was persuaded (almost nagging you could say) by 2 main friends of mine:

Each one of them, nagging me it seemed to get Magic, it came to a point where I couldn’t hold into my Classic roots anymore, I had to expand further, and reach the impossible!
I trained to 99 Magic in a little under 7 weeks, not even playing many hours a day either.
I trained this by:

  • Quests/Lamps - 1 to 45
  • Camelot Teleport - 45 to 82
  • Falador Tele-Other - 82 to 90
  • Camelot Tele-Other- 90 to 99

I then finally got the last level up I thought I would ever get 99 Magic came and went pretty fast, hundreds of people attended, many that I didn’t even know.
All saw history being made, 3 Hit U achieving the ultimate goal for any Pure.

Finally Defence

All my goals where achieved, I had no purpose in RuneScape anymore I was “the” greatest Pure in the game, thoughts and/or dreams of this had never even entered my head.
I had achieved more than I initially set out too, I was amazed by the amount of success and fun I had with RuneScape.

Once again, 2 friends of mine, the same 2 of course:

Also many more this time, each saying I’ve done too much I should “step-up”, and get some Defence.
With Mark being the great friend he was, he nagged me happy in a good way, to train my Defence to 40.
He was right, there was much more to do, so many new items had been released each needing Defence to wear, I was lacking in Defence and more importantly, things to do.

Reciepe Of Disaster (Quest) - When it was released, little did any of us know, that the reward would be so big!
Gloves - in the colour of Barrows giving +12 Strength was the final last piece in the puzzle for me, I had to train Defence.

I set out doing Quests as I told Humanded right from the start, if I was to ever get Defence, it would be by Quests, giving me more things to do in game.
43 Defence was reched with all the Quests done I needed, I trained the final 2 Levels inside the Legends Guild, for my Fremennik Helmet.

Eventually Prayer

I decided it was time to get Prayer simply because I’ve always used Prayer Potions for damn near everything I do anyway, getting Prayer would get me more Combat Levels too (which is what I prefer).Anyway, so I got my Prayer to 99 and also made a video of it which you can download from the Videos section of my website.

A Hybrid’s Perfection, Summoning

Summoning was released and I wasn’t playing the game as much as I’d like but after finding out Summoning would increase your Combat and with it being a really useful Skill also (in my opinion) it was a “must have” for me.

I set out Maging (Ice Burst/Barrage) Rock Lobsters from level 1-95 spending roughly over 400M in Runes and also the Shards/Pouches, equipment and essentials that are need to level up/train the skill. A couple of months had passed after hitting 95 Summoning I decided to try Waterfiends and miraculously I could survive there (with the help of the Unicorn used in Summoning) the remaining charms where gathered for level 99 and I eventually got the final level, I was the first fully maxed hybrid in the game with this, setting another remarkable RuneScape achievement. I also made a video of this achievement which you can download from the Videos section of my website.

Final Note

I never regretted getting Defence, Magic, Prayer or Summoning. My final words to you are:
Pures are not worth the hassle these days (seriously) the Wilderness has been removed (PvP Worlds don’t make up for it) and RuneScape is becoming a Player Vs Monster game.
If you have a main account, keep training it! Its worth it in the end!
If you’re a Pure currently and you’re getting bored I highly recommend you get Defence the same way I did (not 45) but like this…

Create a table with these 2 columns about getting Defence:

  • Pros (Good Points)
  • Cons (Bad Points)

You will see, (just like I did) that getting Defence allows much more things to do in game, and do remember this is only a game and the meaning of a game is to have fun (the reason I got it, I wanted to play the game more).
I was nervous getting Defence at the time, of course I was, I had achieved so much without the skill and getting Defence at that time felt like I was about to waste my account… But I was wrong.

Once I hit the final blow on Elvrag (Dragon Slayer) I went straight to Daero (Monkey Madness) and got all my Defence Xp, once I put some Runite armour on, I was amazed at the stats and the endurance of training initially changed so much!
Finally, not needing to use even a quarter of food than I did previously after going 6+ years of never wearing Runite armour, I was amazed. I really do recommend if you go through the “boring” phase of being Pure, do considering getting Defence, it made me find so much more fun within RuneScape and I’m still enjoying playing it.

Last few words of all… Have fun!
