MotoGP: Estoril
5 October 2009 – 10:50amWell MotoGP has had their 4 week break and it turns out that Ben Spies is replacing James Toseland next year and that Toseland will be heading back to World Superbikes. On an up note, Casey Stoner is back on a MotoGP bike! High expectations for him. I must say I love the new colour-scheme of the Fiat Yamaha, very simple and elegant.
The race started with Pedrosa getting away on the first lap, however the 2nd lap saw Lorenzo take the lead and pick up a big lead at that. Stoner and Pedrosa continued to fight over 2nd/3rd place while Rossi sat back and watched them in 4th biding his time to pounce.
Time went on, laps went by and positions stayed the same, Lorenzo continued to pull away at the front ahead of Stoner, Pedrosa was falling behind Stoner and finally Rossi didn’t seem to gain any time at all and had no real-chance of catching any of them.
Great ride by Stoner to finish in 2nd place on his first race back to MotoGP. The next race is in a fortnights (2 weeks) time which is at Phillip Island, don’t miss it.
