Austrailian Open: Federer vs Nadal

What an amazing match, it’s February now and I thought I’d make a couple of blogs for the day.

Starting with this, the Austrailian Open final, it was a repeat of Wimbledon except on the hard-court, if users have read my blog for a little over 6 months they may recall me writing a blog for the Wimbledon final which can be found here.

As you will have noticed I favoured Federer in that match and I also did this, I really wanted the guy to match the all-time record of 14 Grand Slams held by Pete Sampras.

I thought Federer played the better tennis today by quite a long margin, he just seemed nervous at times which I believe cost him the match as opposed to Nadal who kept a calm head throughout the entire match.

Nadal won in the end and claimed his 6th Grand Slam title, next is the French Open in which Nadal is the favourite to win as no one can match the guy on clay as of yet… I’m looking forward to that!
