UFC 84: Results & Goodbye Tito Ortiz
25 May 2008 – 8:58amPenn clearly proved he’s better than Sherk by smashing his face in continuously for 15 minutes.
Wanderlei Silva showed to the world that he’s back and looking for a title fight with his awesome KO victory over Jardine (who beat Liddell in his last match).
Well as many people do know Dana White (UFC President) and Tito Ortiz never really got on behind the scenes which has worked it’s way publicly many times.
Not including last night you have to respect Tito Ortiz‘s win/loss ratio, I mean, losing 2 times in 9 years to Couture and Liddell is nothing to be ashamed of, quite possibly the best heavyweight and light heavyweight champions.
It was said by Tito that every night that he’s on the fight card the company rakes in over $30million whilst Tito is only paid $200k for that fight (it’s has been the same for the past 5 years). Tito then took matters into his own hands and has decided to fight elsewhere with another brand which hasn’t been named yet but it quite possibly could be EliteXC, it’s been said that Tito wants a rematch with Frank Shamrock however so my bet is that will happen sometime this or next year.
Anyway, I’m proud to call myself an Ortiz fan (I wasn’t before I watched The Ultimate Fighter season with himself and Ken Shamrock) that show really changed my opinion of the guy, good luck Tito with your future no matter where it is you want to go.
