MotoGP: Jerez
30 March 2008 – 3:03pmSo round 2 of the MotoGP season has ended, who was on top this time around? The Spanish young fellow called Dani Pedrosa. To no surprise Dani took the chequered flag but what was most funny was that Vale on the penultimate lap thought the race had finished, slowed down and pulled a wheelie over the start/finish line, little did he know once he went into the first corner took a big look behind him and saw Lorenzo still streaming down the track gaining quickly on him, Vale looked back forward and carried on, finally finishing the race in 2nd position whilst Lorenzo managed to finish 3rd.
I’m very impressed with Vale‘s performance as all the other Bridgestone runners (mainly one) Casey Stoner came off the track two times and made three errors. Vale treated his 2nd place just like a victory.
As almost every MotoGP fan knows that Jerez is not Bridgestone‘s friend, meaning their tyres do not suite this track at all, but what amazed me the most was that Vale the miracle worker himself made the tyres work with his Fiat Yamaha and this is only the 2nd race he’s ever used a Bridgestone tyre!
I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for Estoril (Portugal) as finally the Tech 3 Yamaha team get the pneumatic valve engine they’ve been waiting for, keep your eyes open for James in that race, I have a feeling he’ll do really good.
