27 February 2008 – 11:47amThe biggest earthquake in the United Kingdom for nearly 25 years shook homes across large parts of the country.
People in Newcastle, Yorkshire (where I live), London, Cumbria, the Midlands, Norfolk and also parts of Wales, felt the tremor just before 1:00am GMT (actual time was 12:56am).
The British Geological Survey said the epicentre of the 5.3 magnitude quake was near Market Rasen in Lincolnshire.
The scale where I live in Beverley was 4.7 and it woke me up, I figured it was my younger brother messing around or my dad playing music loud. I had no idea it was an Earthquake so just went back to sleep, woke up today and it was on the news.
